Mr. Whyte Needs Your Help.

On Nov. 27, 2018, Mr. Juan Whyte, a beloved teacher at Montclair High-school in Montclair California, had a stroke. This stroke has left him with extremely limited mobility and difficulty speaking. This limited mobility makes it difficult to get to doctor appointments, physical therapy, and rehabilitation sessions.

It has been a difficult struggle for the family. Their health insurance company has been slow to approve treatments and rehabilitation and will not help pay for the proper wheelchair, handicap lift, or items for home physical therapy.

A Few Words From Past Students and Co-Workers

I attended his English and Journalism classes at Montclair High School from 2003-2007. Mr. Whyte was one of my favorite teachers in High School. He shared a good deal of knowledge and helped me understand English more deeply. I also took his Journalism class my Junior year in High School and had so much fun writing for the school newspaper. One of my most fond memories of his class is that he would make you sing in front of the whole class if you were late. He was a tough teacher, but he made you want to do your work and pushed you to do better.

He truly believes in his students. I’m writing to ask you to please help Mr. Whyte and his family with the fundraising opportunity they have been offered. Mr. Whyte has always been a big family man and they would really be blessed if this opportunity happens for them. I would like to see Mr. Whyte recover from what he has suffered. I admire everything that his wife has been doing, and I know she could use this opportunity as well. While everyone deserves these blessings when they are truly deserved, I feel Mr. Whyte is an outstanding individual with much to contribute to his family and community.

Thank you in advance for your offer to this family. This truly means a lot and I hope Mr. Whyte receives any assistance you can offer.

The Whyte’s have 6 children, 4 between the ages of 14 and 6. Juan has been the sole breadwinner he and his wife first married. The family is now doing all they can to make ends meet and support Juan in his recovery.

On Sept. 1, 2018, less than three months before the stroke, Juan Whyte and his wife, Marjon, renewed their marriage vows. Their love for each other keeps them together through this most trying of times.
